I'll demonstrated this problem on a Dell Vostro 3550 i3 laptop. When you press the button on the PC, it begins to boot and then it gets to the Windows logo with the spinning circle and after few spins both Windows logo and spinning circle disappear leaving a black screen. Possible reasons for this problem are: 1. Display adapter driver is outdated and need to be updates. 2. Error in Windows 10 display driver which makes your primary display appears like an attached secondary display. 3. Graphic card might be disabled by Windows. Solution: One generic way to fix this problem is updating you system BIOS, which is basically a piece of software stored on a memory chip of the CPU motherboard, the BIOS instructs the computer on how to perform a number of basic functions such as booting, keyboard control, identification and configuration of hardware such as the hard drive, display, floppy drive, e.t.c. Since we are unable to reach our display, we will have to attach an external display to be able to perform the BIOS update. You could use a desktop monitor, or projector, or even your home TV with a serial connector. So from the desktop, open your browser and search your PC support page. In this case I will search for Dell Vostro 3550 Support. And from the support page go to drivers and downloadeable files. Under categories select bios, then check for the latest version of BIOS from the list. This procedure will vary depending on your manufacturer and how the support page is organized, but the idea is to search and download the latest BIOS driver for your PC. So here I have version A09 and A12, I will download the later version which is A12 then go ahead and run it just like any other driver or software. Wait for the installation to complete, this might take a while depending on your PC, after the update, your PC will restart automatically and thereafter, the normal boot procedure should follow all the way to your desktop and your PC will be fully back to normal operations.
