Interactive Maps Coming to NYC Subway

New Yorkers and tourists will not have a new way of navigating the city below the streets. It's part of an upgrade to NYC's Grand Central Station in the form of 47-inch touchscreen kiosks.The maps will display departures, arrivals, delays and outages. They'll also display safety and security reminders.The maps are called MTA On-The-Go Kiosks, and are aimed at helping riders better learn the subway system.The MTA was awarded the contract to install the maps after studying subway riders and thei ruse of maps for one month. During the study, they created three categories of riders: seasoned, commuters going somewhere other than their normal route and visitors.More interactive maps will be going up in other subway stations across New York City over the next several months.CLICK HERE to learn more.
