What is Kronicles? Kronicles' Backup as a service (BaaS) is based on proven enterprise-grade hardware as well as reliability delivered through an intelligent, round the clock, end-to-end system monitoring management system. In the office, a POD (Periphery Onsite Device) backs up onsite encrypted data from the customer's window servers and keeps it there for 30 days. Each day, in the off-hours, the encrypted data is then copied over via a dedicated secured link to Kronicles' secure data facility for off-site protection. At the end of each month, Kronicles provides a copy of the encrypted data on a fast and high-capacity industry standard LTO tape which can be returned to the customer or stored at a secure third party location that can be returned on demand. This means that there is a local copy of data onsite for immediate recovery, and off-site backup data as a secondary protection, and a copy on tape for long-term archival. On top of this, we also strongly invite the company to participate in our disaster recovery exercise once a year to be operationally ready and prepared for when the unfortunate, for example a catastrophic hardware system failure, happens. When the unfortunate does happen, as part of the package, we will also provide for your company a war room facility for your business to continue operating by means of a virtual environment with your last backed up data of your choice, ensuring minimal operational down time.
