Install WordPress With FTP - WordPress Tutorials & Tips From WP-Guru In this video we will install WordPress on a remote hosting server using FTP. Advanced computer knowledge is not required but basic understanding of computers and software is very helpful. This tutorial on WordPress installation moves pretty fast. Just follow along and pause the video when you need to catch up. You will need four things to complete this tutorial: 1. A a website hosting account with FTP access. You will need the FTP username, FTP password and the server address. Get these from your hosting company if you don't have them. You will also need a working domain. So if you just got your hosting today you may need to wait a day or two to follow along with this video. 2. An FTP client. This is a piece of software that can connect to a remote web hosting server. In this video I use FileZilla which is free for both Mac and PC, but you can use any FTP client. 3. You'll need a Text Editor. Like TextEdit or Notepad. 4. A modern browser.
